I am trying to get this geeklet running for nationals. and when running the commands suggested on your blog, I get a properly aligned columns/table, but what is being displayed on the desktop (geeklet) isn't formatted properly- columns are all out of whack for all the alignment options...

Hey, man. I’ve gotten this question a couple times. To make the output line up just right, you’ll need to use a fixed-width (or “monospace”) font. That essentially means that the width of a letter m is identical to the width of the letter i (and all other letters). Here’s some more info:
